Artists in conversation at the Carriage Works, Leeds

Emergence runs a number of Arts and Health projects nationally, called 'Creative Personalities', to increase self expression, social networking, confidence and self esteem. Our events are not therapeutic in a clinical sense but we believe through building social networks and tapping into our inherent creativity, this can bring many benefits and increase wellbeing.



Creative Personalities - raising awareness of PD

Creative Personalities 2009 was an exciting day, held in Leeds, to launch the unique national programme of arts: Creative Personalities Yorkshire and Humberside; Creative Personalities Eastern.

The Creative Personalities festival featured works by people with, or who identify with, personality disorders and took place in the city’s leading theatre and arts venue The Carriageworks (Millennium Square) on Friday 30 January 2009.

Creative Personalities: Eastern region

creative personalities thumbnail Emergence has been working in the Eastern region to identify and develop networking and creative opportunities in the six counties (Essex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire).

Emergence has developed a unique model of creative consultation that is appropriate for use with people who identify with PD.

Evaluation of Creative Personality events

Emergence’s evaluation of projects is innovative – we gather evidence before, during and after a project.

We use a mixture of qualitative and quantative tools, creative visual methods including drawing, podcasts, photography and film as well as the more traditional questionnaires.

We are currently mid-way through our evaluation of many projects and will be publishing results soon.
