Working in close partnership with professionals

Emergence always works in close partnership with professionals. We believe that this is a much more creative way to challenge attitudes and change lives than by argumentative or adversarial processes.

As a user-led organisation, we are able to act as an enabler in the identification, delivery or realisation of a project by helping you to deliver your own solution. We are experienced in working with various groups and regularly work with the Department of Health; universities and training bodies; mental health clinicians; mental health managers; researchers; voluntary organisations and charities; PCTs and SHAs; GPs; prison and probation services and Ministry of Justice’s National Offender Management Service (NOMS); social services and budding and established artists.

Here are just some of the ways we can work with you:setting up arts and social networks; setting up carer groups; drafting service user policy; consultation for service developments; training through the Knowledge & Understanding Framework (KUF); joint research projects; joint bids; training about the importance of PD; participation in standard’s setting; anti stigma initiatives; and participation in conference.

Emergence is continually developing ways of working with professional groups, organisations and/or individuals. One new approach we are launching soon is a website forum specifically for professionals – watch this space!
