Borderline UK is a national user-led network of people within the UK who are affected by Personality Disorder (PD). We work towards improving understanding and support for people who have been given a diagnosis of PD, people who experience difficulties often associated with these diagnoses and their families, friends and partners.
We use the term ‘user-led’ to make it clear that the network is run, and the majority of our is work carried out, by people with personal experience of personality disorder or the difficulties often associated with these diagnoses, that is, by service users.
Borderline UK works towards improving understanding and support services for people affected by personality disorder by:
- Facilitating online support forums
- Running a carers support group
- Providing information
- Supporting and carrying out research related to PD
- Providing training on PD and issues related to these diagnoses
- Providing advice and guidance on personality disorder policy and service developments
- Providing advice and support on service user involvement
