Recognising and understanding the complex nature of personality disorder, and responding effectively, is a growing concern for public services and organisations up and down the country.

Emergence offers training to a cross sections of organisations in a bid to provide knowledge, skills and competencies required to work with the challenges of PD. We provide on the job and off the job training.

Our goals are to help you improve your capability, capacity and performance.

Emergence offers training across three distinct areas:

  1. PD - it is a complex issue - we outline what it is, how a diagnosis is given, suggested causes, treatment and support available as well as how best to work with the challenges of PD in the home and workplace.
  2. Service user and carer involvement - experience has shown that involving service users and carers in operating and commissioning services is itself a mark of quality. We can provide advice and guidance, from a service user perspective, on any aspect of the process.
  3. Arts based training - many people find that art is a really useful way of getting to grips with difficult feelings. Arts projects and events also help break down the stigma people diagnosed with PD often face. Our aim is to deliver a high quality national programme of events - these are more often than not co-delivered and co-produced with partners, groups and organizations.
